When I was a kid, I liked the Little Red Riding Hood story but that was then… and now I must admit that Hoodwinked! is the story for grownups or maybe for the next generation of kids. Don’t get me wrong I surely am a fan of this kind of comedy but I think to really find it funny you should read the fairy tale first.
Little Red Ridding Hood isn’t the naive and childish girl, as the Brothers Grimm created her, she is smart and she knows karate. The Wolf is not necessarily a bad guy, he is a reporter following Red, investigating the case of the stolen recipes of candies. Granny is an extreme sports lover, skateboarding, snowboarding, and surfing with her hommies from the hood. She looks calm and old but she is an adrenaline junkie. The Woodsman is a German fellow that tries to become an actor but he doesn’t do really well so in his spear time he sells snitzel on a stick to kids. The forest police, Nicky Flippers, Chief Grizzly and Detective Bill Stork, are new characters and they are questioning everybody to find out who stole the recipes. You will be surprised to find out the rest of the story…
It is truly an updated fairy tale and all in all the movie made my day, it made me laugh a lot. It is sorely is a film anyone can see.
